Here is the close up shot I promised of the Guest Book Tree from my shower! The thumb prints are the leaves and everyone signed their names. The tree was drawn by my Father in Law. This was such a cute idea!
The paper flower I made by cutting up lunch bags and taping them together. Cut the bottom of the bags off and then cut the bags in the shapes of petals, you will get big and small ones with each bag. I think this took about 4 bags for one flower. I got this idea from a fantastic girl that was on the Nate Berkus show (I love him)and of course I can't remember her name, I claim baby brain. I'm sure you can find her episode on his show's website.
The little pin wheel flower was another from by "book" themed baby shower and the bird was from my "nesting" shower.

The Baby is Coming....any day now!!
Saturday is the big day... unless she's early or unless she's late.... I'm praying my little girl wont be too comfortable and decide to come late! I'm overwhelmed with emotions lately. Excitement, nerves, anticipation! I can't wait for her to arrive but I'm also a little scared...
Will everything go well during delivery? Will it hurt? Will she be healthy? Will I be a good Mom? My mind is swirling!
I'm deciding today to quiet my mind and let God take care of all this chatter and worry. I know he has a plan for me and my family and I find comfort that I don't need to worry anymore because he will always take care of us.
So, here I go, shhhhhhhh.....

Recycled Wood Planks
Okay, I've needed something over my bed for a while now and I've been having a hard time. I bought about 5 mirrors from Home Goods that all got returned and a couple of frames that were returned too. Home Goods, by the way, is one of my favorite stores to find great inexpensive home furnishings!
Anyway, I finally remembered about the wooden planked wall that came down from our garage and I had told Adam we needed to keep it because I would find something great to use it for later. Well, it's been leaning behind the wall to our garage thru rain and shine for 6 months now and part of it's finally being used!
It took Adam about two seconds to hammer two planks off the other boards and then he bent the rusty nails back so I wouldn't stab myself (he's so sweet).
I got these knobs from the sales bin at Anthropologie... now, I know what you're thinking, Anthropologie is way too expensive... yes, it is... but, if you make it a point to stop by every so often you can get great home decorating ideas and great bargains in their sale section. I got a fantastic lamp shade there that was regular $200 for $16 bucks once! I also scored a rug from their dumpster.. yes, their dumpster... if you have access to where they throw their trash it's worth checking out. They were trowing it away because it had grommets punched thru the corners from hanging it on a wall. The girl had just leaned it against the dumpster so I got it for FREE!
I actually documented this for a tutorial but my memory card got ruined so I will just have to explain. Just drill some holes and screw the knobs in, then attach picture hanging hooks on the back and hang on the wall!
Thanks for looking!

Shelves over Dresser
So Adam hung the shelves for me yesterday! I think he might be a little afraid of the emotional roller coaster I've been on lately so he is as helpful as ever! Ha
I found these Storm Trooper photos on pinterest (my favorite web site) and gave them to Adam for his birthday! The Bunny Head is from Anthropologie.

Not sure why this pic is so fuzzy?

The Nursery
Okay, thought I would update you on how the nursery is coming along! I still have a few final touches to make... like the three tubs of diapers we have been given... it's hard to make diapers look cute. There will definitely be something added over the dresser/changing table... which is a mess by the way, just ignore it please.
I will keep you posted if I change anything!
The fantastic flowers hanging over the window shade were made by my cousin Marti out of book pages and were hung as garland at my Baby Shower! So crafty!
I made the fabric pouf balls using cheap paper lanterns, cutting circles of fabric, pinching them in the middle and hot gluing like crazy! The embroidery hoops just have old fabric scraps tucked inside. The AMAZING bird mobile I bought at the incredible store Belles nest, located in Sierra Madre.
The Bunny Head!! This one had Adam shaking his head a little. Again, please excuse my mess.
On top of the book case is the guest book tree from my other Baby Shower! My Sister in Law and good friend Kristen came up with this one (the leaves are thumb prints from all the guests and the tree was drawn by my Father in Law) I am surrounded by creative men and women! Kind of a bad picture, I will take a close up of the tree... Also, ignore the diaper bag, that got returned the day after I bought it.. I have commitment issues.

Kitchen After
We've done it! There are just a few cosmetic things that still need to be done but overall WE HAVE A KITCHEN! With the help of Adam's brother, Dad, my Dad and most of all Adam on a New Years Eve kick off, the work is complete.... and I must point out that I pitched in where my pregnant belly could fit too!
IKEA cabinetry and countertops
Moved pantry to fit around fridge
Bella waiting for me to chase her
Opposite view... still trying to figure out what to put
on the right side of wall...
